Reflection

My friends and I went on a walk and we went to the playground near our house. Most of the bottom of it was covered in water but there was a little pathway to the swings so we sat and I took a picture of their reflection in the water. I thought this looked cool! :)

Rays of God

I always think that if there is a God of any kind above us, they create things like this. Pardon the STUPID date at the bottom--I just adore the way the clouds let the beams of late afternoon sunlight break through. That's my favorite time of day in the summer, by far.

Africa...Maybe...?

First off, I know it's technically Saturday already, but this will count as Friday for me. Sorry, Angélique!

Hokay. Just for kicks, I decided to add something not really all that related to nature, unless you take into consideration the facts that I was outside, and the substance was water.....yes. This is a water spill. That looks just like Africa. Seriously, I did not plan it that way. My friends and I were having a little too much fun one summer with our water bottles in my driveway, and, well.....we discovered Africa a DIFFERENT way. :-) Honest to blog, I have compared it to real images of this hot continent, and this is pretty darn close. Sweet, huh?!

Arkansas Again

Cool scenic picture. I like how the light hits the camera just so.

By the way, I was on a super tall cliff to take this picture and it was SCARY! There was a demolished car at the bottom of the cliff...

Painted Faces

This is also from my Washington D.C. trip, and this was a memorial of many deceased soldiers. I wish I could remember more about it, but I do remember it was in one of the buildings right before you enter the cemetery, and it stretched from one end to the other, just these wonderfully unique paintings of so many people who'd been killed for our country. All these local D.C. artists were commissioned to do this, so there were oodles of different styles of portraying these people, from abstract to basic profiles to everything in between. This was one of the most touching things on this trip. Observe and enjoy, and remember everyone who does this for us. We thank you.

Palm Tree

I took this in Manzanillo, Mexico. I love this picture! It's really... palmy, I guess? It reminds me of a postcard.

One Thought

For those of you who have been to our nation's capital, you'll know that Washington D.C. holds Arlington Cemetery, possibly one of the most touching cemeteries I've ever been to. Not to add more superlatives, but this is also one of my favorite pictures EVER--I saw this and couldn't help but have my heart be wrenched a little. Daisy

I took this picture again while I was in Arkansas only it was a year before.

Her name is Daisy, and she was the dog of the neighbor of the person whose house I was painting.

She was such a sweet dog, and I think this pic captures her personality, friendly and smiling!

California mountains

This was taken on my California trip in October 2007; my family and I went to Yosemite for my mom's birthday, and this was our first resting spot before we got to the campgrounds. The view overlooking this little ledge was spectacular, with the clouds looming over the mountains and breaking for sunlight. Breathtaking. I love California, I really do.

Umbrella

I took this picture in 2007 when I was in Manzanillo, Mexico. Me and my friend Lindsey were staying in her uncle's house down by the beach, and I decided to take a picture of the random umbrellas on the beach. I love this picture because of the waves, and the mountain things in the background, and it shows that it doesn't have to be a sunny day in Mexico for it to be pretty. I can almost taste the salt in the air looking at this picture!
